Since the 1980s, Maria Lake Ranch has thrived as a cattle ranch and fishing club, nestled in the heart of Huerfano County. With a recent change in ownership, we are seizing the opportunity to reimagine the future of the ranch and its surrounding communities. Our new leadership is dedicated to understanding and addressing the current and long-term needs of Huerfano County and its residents.
Through our research, we have identified several critical areas requiring attention and improvement:
Donald E. Siecke grew up on a farm in northeast Nebraska, and has a BSBA in accounting from the University of Denver. He practiced as a certified public accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell and then with a CPA firm which he headed for 16 years combined.
He is actively involved in real estate investment and development, banking, and diversified other businesses. Siecke also serves as a board member of a number of businesses, metropolitan districts, and ministries.
At Maria Lake Ranch, we believe it is our responsibility to instill hope and opportunity in Huerfano County. We recognize that the community is in desperate need of affordable housing, job opportunities, and support for local markets.
To further our mission, we have embraced cooperative efforts to conserve water resources essential for agriculture and future growth. Water is a precious resource in our region, and by working together, we can ensure its sustainability for both current and future generations.
Our ultimate goal is to create a better quality of life for everyone in Huerfano County. We believe in the power of hard work and community collaboration. By encouraging neighbors to come together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community.
At Maria Lake Ranch, we are not just building a ranch; we are cultivating a new community. Our vision includes developing housing that meets the needs of local residents and attracts new, tax-paying businesses. Together, we can create a thriving, hopeful future for Huerfano County.
